Video

Paragraph 1:    Describe how the video appeals to two of the multiple intelligences.  While making my video I chose elements while carefully considering how the different elements would impact the different bits of intelligence they might have. My video supports those visual-spatial learners as it shows visuals supporting the content being discussed. My video also included music that played in the background. This music would help support those students who are strong in the musical intelligence area. Both of these elements support different types of learners and better draw them into learning and understanding the information being presented to them.  2. Paragraph 2:    Explain two ways your video aligns with suggestions from two of the articles you read this week. Provide APA style citations for the articles in the body of the paragraph and then correctly cite the articles at the bottom of the   blog   post using APA style. While reading the art...

Multimedia Development

When looking over my multimedia project, it appeals to Naturalistic or Spatial Intelligence in multiple ways. For instance, my multimedia project includes images and videos that show different places around the world. Seeing images of nature is an element that engages learners who are naturalistic. The topic of traveling is something that would appeal to those individuals who have a strong naturalistic intelligence, my project discusses how with traveling you are able to adventure different areas around the world encouraging time out in nature. My multimedia project also supports an individual who is strong in the spatial intelligence area. For example, my Thinglink is set up with multiple different tags spread amongst the image. This would give an individual the opportunity to analyze the "map", this is something that a personal with spatial intelligence enjoys. My project also includes many forms of visual media; pictures, written words, videos and websites. These are a...

Multimedia

Multimedia is multifaceted and includes many different ways to view media or communication. More specifically, “..computer-controlled integration of the text, graphics, drawings, still and moving images (Video), animations, audio, etc.” (Lisbdnetwork 2021) The use of multimedia allows people to view the information in various ways, making it more accessible to all, and supporting all different types of learners. Richard Meyer (2014) discusses the many principles of multimedia and describes them in detail as the following;  1. The Coherence Principle – The coherence principle argues that “People learn more deeply from a multimedia message when extraneous material is excluded rather than included.” (pg. 4) When designing a multimedia project, for this principle I would be sure to include images, video clips or animations that directly relate to the presented learning objects. I would be sure to make sure that all forms of media I am using are intentional and not distracting ...

Web Design

Web design is essential in today's world. The design of a website and its accessibility can determine if it fails or succeeds. The website I chose was the " Magic of Baltimore ", I found this website in the " The twelve worst over the top websites of 2014" section provided this week.  At first glance at this website, I didn't know where to look. There are many images and fonts that make my brain confused and clearly ignore some of the main aspects of web design.  Usability - From exploring this website, I believe that this website lacks usability. When you are on the home screen of this website, you are met with many pictures of historical figures from Baltimore. You would think, that if you clicked on these images you would be directed to something. But, you are not. I also feel that the way information is organized is quite busy, making it harder to find information wanted by the user. The article, "10 Principles of Good Web Design" talks about u...

Multiple Intelligences Theory

Upon completion of my Multiple Intelligences test, I discovered that my two most prominent intelligences are; Self and Nature. These were results that I didn't quite expect, but after reading about I understand how they relate to me. For starters, the self-intelligence description discusses how a person with a strong sense of self prefers to learn from trial and error and likes time to self-reflect. I can relate to this description as I am someone who keeps to themselves and thrives in situations where I am working independently. My second highest intelligence, nature, was what surprised me the most. I would have never thought nature to be one of my intelligences, but something I often do school work or other reflective work sitting outside, I find I am more easily able to focus with fewer distractions when I am outside.  Thinking back to school, I can think of two different scenarios that both cultivated my multiple intelligences and did not. In grade school, I remember bein...
